Borrowing Policy
Eligibility to Borrow
- All full or part-time RRC students, staff, and Continuing Education Instructors, both on and off campus
- Alumni RRC Association members with a Premium Alumni card
- Members of PMI (Project Management Institute)
- RRC Board members
- Heritage Club - Retired College staff
- Community Members - residents living in the area of Manitoba served by RRC (fees will be applied)
- Reciprocal members - students and staff of the University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, William and Catherine Booth College, Providence College, Assiniboine Community College, and the University College of the North.
Registration
In order to borrow materials, RRC students, RRC staff and associate members must have a valid RRC photo I.D. card. Other borrowers are issued a library card by the Library.
Please note: Those who are not current RRC students or staff have limited access to library materials and services. Only books and journals may be borrowed and other library services may NOT be available.
Loan Periods
- Books – 3 weeks
- Periodicals – 1 week (except for the current issue which does not circulate)
- Audiovisual – Library and classroom use only
- Reserve items – varies from 2 hours to 7 days
- Term loans – Day instructors and administrative staff may borrow books on term loan.
- Interlibrary loan materials - 2 weeks from receipt
Overdues
No late fines are charged except for reserve items, recalled items, and interlibrary loans. See the rates below.
Library borrowers are responsible for any loss or damage to materials borrowed on their card.
Failure to return items or to pay replacement costs for lost items will result in suspension of library privileges. Marks, certificates and transcripts will be withheld by the Registrar until Library accounts are settled.
Fines (per item)
- Overdue Reserve (2 hour loan)................................$3.00 per hour
- Overdue Reserve (24 hour).......................................$1.00 per hour
- Overdue Reserve (3, 4, or 7 day, 10 week loan)....$5.00 per day
- Recalled Materials: If the item you have out is recalled and you return it late, there is a $1.00 per day late fee.
- Overdue Interlibrary loan materials..........................$5.00 per day
Renewals
Renewals are allowed for all materials provided there is no hold on the item. Reserve items cannot be renewed. Renewals may not be available for material received on interlibrary loan.
Holds
A hold may be placed on an item that is out on loan. You will be contacted when the item becomes available.
Privacy
To protect the privacy rights of Library users, information regarding individual borrowers may not be disclosed.
