Getting Resources
Items in our catalogue
- Most items will be found on the open shelves.
- Books and other documents are filed by call number.
- Journals are filed by title.
If an item is NOT on the shelf, or is at a different location, you
may request it.
Requests (staff or student number required)
Our library system, Voyager, allows you to make a number of different
requests. After
finding an item in the OPAC , display the full record by
clicking on the title, then click on the ’Requests’ tab at the top of
the page. You will be prompted to enter your staff or student number and last
name, then you may select from the list of requests in the box shown.
Types of requests
Place a hold - If the item you have found in
the OPAC has been borrowed by someone else, you may request that it be held for
you when it is returned.
Recall - If the item you have found in the OPAC
has been borrowed by someone else, and the due date is a long time away, you may
be able to get it faster by asking that it be recalled.
At a different location - If the item you
have found in the OPAC is at a different location, you may ask to have it
brought to your location for you to pick up. If you are at the Notre Dame or
Princes Street campuses, select ’Call Slip’. If you are at any other
location, select ’Off-campus / Distance Request’ and put your location
information into the ’comments’ section of the online form.
Item Renewal
You may extend the loan period for items you have borrowed by renewing your
items.
