D & CS Select is a web search engine powered by Google Co-op that has been restricted to selected web sites on disabilities. Currently D & CS Select focuses on these web sites:

  • Canada. PWD-Online.ca (www.pwd-online.ca/). "Access to services and information for persons with disabilities, family members, caregivers and all Canadians."
  • Canada. The Office of Disability Issues (ODI) (www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/disability_issues/) The Office is the focal point within the Government of Canada for key partners working to promote the full participation of Canadians with disabilities in learning, work and community life.
  • Canadian Centre on Disability Studies (www.disabilitystudies.ca/). The Centre is a consumer-directed, university-affiliated centre dedicated to research, education and information dissemination on disability issues.
  • Diamond in the Ruff Medical Dogs (www.ditrmd.ca/). This Canadian organization specializes in Balance dogs and cross-mobility medical dogs, customizing each dog's training to correspond to clients' needs. It assists with finding and training the right dog, whether it be a purebred, mutt or rescue.
  • Enablelink (www.enablelink.org/). The web site of the Canadian Abilities Foundation includes the online version of Abilities as well as other resources. The paper version of Abilities held in the RRC Library (see "Periodicals (Paper)" in the left navigation bar).
  • The Healing Project (www.thehealingproject.org/) Non-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of individuals with life-threatening illnesses and chronic diseases.
  • Manitoba Education. Appropriate Educational Programming (www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/specedu/aep/). Information on Appropriate Educational Programming; Clinician/Counselling Services; Special Needs Funding; Planning Processes; Intersectoral Initiatives; and other information on Manitoba Education's services for students with disabilities.
  • Manitoba Family Services and Housing. Persons With Disabilities. (www.gov.mb.ca/fs/pwd/). Services for people with disabilities, including the Office of the Vulnerable Persons Commissioner, children's programs, employment and income assistance, vocational rehabilitation, the Manitoba Disabilities Issues Office and the "Full Citizenship" strategy on disability.
  • Syracuse University Center on Human Policy (thechp.syr.edu/). The Center is a network of academic programs, centers, student organizations, and affiliated faculty whose research, teaching, and advocacy seeks to promote the rights of people with disabilities locally, nationally, and globally, and to facilitate a critical examination of disability as an aspect of diversity in society.
