E-Stat Research Guide

E-STAT is a Statistics Canada Web site that provides access to statistical data (and support documentation) from two main sources:

• CANSIM (Canadian Statistical Information Management system), Statistics Canada's socioeconomic time series database, and
• the Census of Canada (the current Census data is from 2006)

This help guide gives step-by-step instructions for a basic search using the CANSIM search engine and for using the Table of Contents to find Census data.
