Description: The Educational Resources Information Centre (ERIC) database contains approximately 1.1 million abstracts of periodical articles and "documents" (books, technical and research reports and items not published elsewhere).
In addition, it contains about 107,000 full text items.
ERIC is an excellent source of "grey literature" in the education field -- i.e., items such as lesson plans, policy statements, etc. which may not have been widely published.
Up to 2003, ERIC documents that are not available in full-text online are usually available on microfiche. Complete microfiche collections are located at the D.S. Woods Education Library (University of Manitoba) and the Manitoba Education Library (1181 Portage Avenue). This applies only to documents (books and reports) that are not commercially available.
