Trade Periodicals
There is no hard-and-fast definition for what are often called "trade magazines" or "trade journals", but they share some key characteristics:
- They are published for the people who work in a particular trade, profession or industry.
- Although the content is specialized and even technical in nature, the format is usually glossy and full of pictures.
- There is high advertising content, and the advertisements tend to be "industry to industry" ads (e.g., for ads specialized equipment used in the industry).
- Articles tend to deal with issues of concern to the trade profession or industry, new developments, emerging trends, and so on.
