Stop 2: Computer Lab

The Library Computer Lab contains 20 computers for student use. These computers can be used for word processing, spreadsheet or database projects, email, or Web browsing.

A laser printer, colour printer and a scanner are also available for student use.

To log on and print from the Library computers you must have a valid network account and available funds in your Equitrac printing account. Ask at the Information Desk for details.

If you are a guest you may apply for a temporary guest account and purchase printing credits for 1 day use. Guest accounts expire at the end of every day.

You can reserve a computer for up to 2 hours a day by signing your name on one of the reservation sheets posted in the Lab.

Reservations must be made at least one day in advance, but machines that are not reserved can be used on a first come, first served basis.

Help is available from the Lab Assistant who provides assistance from 8 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday. If the Lab office is empty, ask for help at the Information Desk.

When the Library Classroom is not in use for instructional purposes, it serves as an overflow area for the Computer Lab.

The 15 terminals in the Library Classroom cannot be booked: they are available on a first-come, first served basis.

Game playing and chat are not allowed on any Library computers or through laptop network connections.

Also, when using any College terminal on the Internet, you are subject to the College's Acceptable Use of Computer Facilities policy, which covers such issues as pornography, copyright, and unauthorized tampering with software and equipment.

The policy is posted in all computer labs in the College.
