Getting Ready for College

Congratulations and welcome to RRC Polytech!

If you’ve already submitted your application to the College, here is an informative checklist to ensure you’re prepared to begin your studies.

At this point, you should have submitted your application, paid the application fee, and submitted all required documentation on your Future Student Account. If you haven’t, please ensure to do the above before reviewing our checklist.

Top 10 Checklist for New Students

1. Stay Familiar with Your Future Student Account Username and Password

You created this when you submitted your application and you’ll want to ensure you know it in case you need to add anything to your application.
If you have forgotten your password, you may reset it by going to the reset password page.

If you have forgotten your username or are locked out of your account, please contact our Student Service Centre.

2. Pay Your Non-refundable Deposit

Your Admissions Officer will send you either a Conditional Letter of Offer or a Letter of Offer which will include a non-refundable deposit to confirm your attendance in your program. The deposit must be paid by the specific date outlined in your letter as failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your application.

As a reminder…

Conditional Offer Letter: There are still admission requirements that must be met within a stated timeframe and you must meet the conditions in the letter in order to move to the next step.

Offer Letter: You have met the admission requirements and payment of the deposit is to confirm your attendance in the program.

3. Registration Letter – Officially in at RRC Polytech!

Congratulations!

You are now admitted into your program and a start date has been provided to you. Further information around course registration and scheduling will be provided to you via email (keep an eye on your Student Email!).

4. Know Your RRC Polytech Email Account and HUB

This is different than your Future Student Account as this is what you will use going forward at the College.

As a RRC Polytech student, you are provided with access to HUB, which will provide you with 24-hour access to all RRC Polytech online and network resources and your student email account.

HUB is home to all of the College’s online apps and your personal information. On HUB, you can do the following:

  • Access your financial information and pay your fees
  • Review your academic information
  • Launch Office 365
  • Rent a locker
  • Update your parking information
  • And much more!

To learn more about the available options for our students, visit Information Technology Solutions.

5. Options to Finance Your Education

Student fees are payable on or before the academic term start date as listed in your offer letter.

Here are some helpful options to assist you:

  • Band-Funded and other Sponsored Students
If your program or student fees are billed to a third party, you must submit and complete a Sponsorship Authorization Form.
  • Manitoba Student Aid
Manitoba Student Loans and Canada Student Loans are interest-free and payment-free while you are in full-time studies. Learn more about the student financial assistance process and apply online by visiting Manitoba Student Aid. Please note RRC Polytech requests your fee payments directly from Manitoba Student Aid, however you are still responsible for ensuring the government student loan process is completed and that the College receives your program fees. If you have not received your student loan by the start date, you must contact one of the Student Service Centres to discuss payment arrangements to avoid being charged a late fee.
  • Awards and Financial Aid at RRC Polytech
Our office provides several support services, including information on financing assistance programming and provides our College community with over two million in awards each year! Review our complete list of Awards, Scholarships and Bursaries to see if you are eligible. Please note that all awards do require an application.
  • Employment and Training Services Manitoba-Assisted Students
You are responsible for paying your portion of program and student fees by the payment due date. Employment Manitoba will send their portion of the program and student fees directly to the College. If the College does not receive the Employment and Training Services Manitoba approval form by the program start date, you are responsible for the entire payment.
