Laptop Loan Program

The Red River College has laptops available for loan from the Notre Dame Campus Library (CM18). Laptops may be borrowed for a one month period with up to two renewals.

Loaning a laptop is free of charge; however, the student assumes the financial responsibility of replacing the laptop in the case of any damages. When you borrow a laptop you will be required to complete a Security Agreement

Note: at this time an appointment is required for all laptop pickups and returns

Booking a laptop

  • Request a laptop by filling out the AV Booking Request Form or by emailing library@rrc.ca. The following information is required:
    • Name
    • Staff/Student number
    • Program
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Preferred date and time for pickup (subject to availability)
      • NDC – appointment times are available:
        • Mon-Thu 8:00am - 4:30pm
        • Fri 8:30am - 4:00pm
      • EDC – appointment times are limited, email for more information.
      • Remote Campus – email to arrange delivery to a remote campus.
    • At the time of pickup a valid staff or student photo ID must be presented and a Security Agreement must be signed.

Returning a laptop

  • Ensure that all essential documents and data are saved outside the laptop (cloud, flash drive). Library services will wipe all information off of returned laptops
  • Book an appointment to return a laptop by emailing library@rrc.ca with your preferred date and time for return (subject to availability)

Loan period

  • The maximum loan period is one month with the option to renew twice (three months total)

Red River College is not responsible for any hardware of software issues related to the laptops. If you are experiencing a hardware issue contact the library at library@rrc.ca.

Software

  • All laptops come installed with Windows 10. Students must install Office 365 (instructions provided) and any other software
  • Program-specific software – For any software required that is specific to your program, please contact your Instructor or an Educational Assistant in your academic area for assistance
