SOCIAL MEDIA

History

RRC Library's social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) were initiated by Mark Nelson in 2009. At a time when social media was a less respected form of communication, Mark foresaw the value of growing these accounts by regularly posting series appearing on the Library's website (Word of the Day, Featured Item, Library News). In the summer of 2020, a Social Media Team was formed and was fortunate to benefit from the significant following acquired on these accounts through Mark's efforts.

Going forward

The Social Media Team aims to find a balance between informative, promotional, and purely fun posts. In addition to communicating on behalf of LAS, we also seek to show support for various College initiatives and events. LAS social media is a public venue that portrays our department as friendly, knowledgable, and service-oriented.

See below for examples of content we have featured. The Social Media Team welcomes input, so please feel free to get in touch with the rep for your area if you have feedback or a request. And, of course, follow and like us on social (links to our social media accounts are in the footer)!
