ASC: Supports for Students - Academic Supports for Students with Disabilities

Extended Academic Supports

Extended academic supports funded through the Canada Study Grant (CSG)

If you are a student with a Manitoba Student Aid-verified permanent disability, you may be eligible to access funding for extended academic supports and services through the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Disabilities (CSG). If you apply for and receive the CSG, you may use the money to pay for tutoring or academic coaching supports provided directly through the Academic Success Centre.

Students with CSG awards can receive funding for up to 5 hours / week of course tutoring and/or up to 10 hours of academic strategy sessions (academic coaching) for the duration of their approved study period. The actual number of funded tutoring hours will vary depending on student’s course load and other factors. For complete details on how to apply for the CSG and how these funds may be used, visit this Manitoba Student Aid webpage and book an appointment with an Red River College Polytechnic Accessibility Specialist.
