Global Road Warrior (Database Instruction)

Global Road Warrior is an extensive country-by-country resource for learning about culture, customs, history, and language worldwide

Browsing by Country List

The easiest way to search the Global Road Warrior database is to browse by country. Select a country from the "Country Travel Guides" list along the left-hand side of the page to go to that country's guide. The countries are listed alphabetically A-Z.

Alternatively to using the "Country Travel Guides" list, jump to a country guide by finding that country on the interactive map and clicking on it. Hovering the mouse over a country on the map will bring up that country's name. Zoom in and out on the map by clicking the "+" and "-" buttons in the upper left-hand corner of the map or by using the mouse scroll wheel. While zoomed in, click and drag the mouse to discover new areas of the map.

Searching by Keyword

Use the search bar at the bottom of the page to search by keyword. A search will bring up links to all entries containing the search term entered, showing an excerpt of where that search term was found. Selecting a country from the search bar's dropdown menu will limit all results to those found within that country's travel guide.

Noting entry headings can be an effective way of filtering through search results. For example, we might search "hockey" to find information about the sport in Canada. Looking at the results, entries with the heading "Canada: Sports" will be far more likely to have such information compared to those with the heading "Canada: Banknote Images."
