Health Care Aide Guide

Focuses on training of nursing assistants in understanding and meeting of human needs for nursing home resisdents. Uses Maslow's hierarchy of needs to explain human needs. Gives examples of basic needs and how a nursing assistant should meet them. Looks at responses to resident's behaviours including inappropriate sexual behaviour. Also looks at the needs of younger people in long term care.
