ASC: Supports for Students - Academic Supports for Students with Disabilities

Academic Supports for Students with DisabilitiesAcademic Supports for Students with Disabilities

If you are a student with a disability, you may be eligible to access free tutoring or  academic coaching with an assigned ASC staff tutor.

Students with a disability can be referred to the Academic Success Centre to receive up to 8 hours of tutoring ad/or up to 4 academic coaching sessions per term.

To apply for this free service, follow these steps:

  1. Meet with an Accessibility Specialist to discuss an academic support plan. Click here to book an appointment.
  2. After meeting, the Accessibility Specialist will submit a referral to the Academic Success Centre on your behalf. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions and next steps.
  3. Next, the Academic Success Centre will review the details of your referral, then match you with an appropriate tutor who will work with you throughout the term. Once a tutor has been assigned, you will receive a second email containing your tutor's contact information and instructions to contact them to set up your first meeting.

If you are a student who is receiving sponsorship or other funding for tutoring, through an agency or the  the Canada Student Grant for Persons With Disabilities for Services and Equipment, you may be able to access tutoring hours beyond the basic 8 hours per term allotment.
