Academic Supports for Students with DisabilitiesTutoring for Students with Disabilities

If you are a student with a disability, you may be eligible to access free tutoring or  academic coaching with an assigned tutor.

Students with a disability can receive up to 8 hours of tutoring and/or up to 4 academic coaching sessions per term upon referral from an Accessibility Specialist.

To apply for this free service, follow these steps:

Accessibility Services Tutoring Referral Process

  1. Student books an appointment with an Accessibility Specialist to discuss their academic support plan. Click here to book an appointment.
  2. Student meets with an Accessibility Specialist to discuss support options. Students who are eligible for Manitoba Student Aid can also get assistance in applying for additional funded tutoring hours (CSG costing forms, financial assistance agreements, etc.).
  3. The Accessibility Specialist submits a referral to the Academic Success Centre on the student's behalf. The student receives a confirmation email with instructions and next steps.
  4. The Academic Success Centre reviews the referral and matches the student with an appropriate tutor, when available. The student will receive a follow up email with their tutor's contact information and instructions to set up the first tutoring appointment.

All students with disabilities who've been referred to the Academic Success Centre may access up to 8 hours of tutoring and/or up to 4 hours of academic coaching with an assigned tutor, per term.

Additional tutoring hours may be provided on a fee for service basis if students have been approved for tutoring supports through the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment - Students with Disabilities.
