ASC: Supports for Faculty and Staff - Help Your Students to Connect with Us

How Do I Refer a Student for Individual EAL Tutoring?

How do I refer a student for individual EAL tutoring?

If you feel a student would benefit from EAL tutoring, ask the student to contact us at ealsupport@rrc.ca to request a tutoring appointment.

What are the different types of EAL supports available for students?

We offer three support formats: Individual Tutoring, Small Group Tutoring, and Workshops.  Small group tutoring and workshops are offered through our Integrated Language Support model.

Why should I refer students for EAL tutoring?

As instructors and staff, you have tremendous influence.  Students are more likely to contact us for help if you refer them to language support and check in with them to ensure they have made a tutoring appointment.

When should I refer students for EAL tutoring?

Refer students to language support as soon as you see gaps in speaking, listening, reading or writing skills.  Early alert is critical for the success of your EAL students.
