At the most basic level, tutors use content knowledge and familiarity with course material to help students better understand and apply course content.
Tutors increase success by working alongside Red River College Polytechnic students to improve content knowledge and academic learning skills. Tutors provide the opportunity to review, practice and question new material learned in class and can assist students in building the foundational skills needed to be successful in college.
Tutors strive to help students become independent and confident life-long learners through providing tutorial services in a safe, supportive environment that accommodates a diversity of learning and cultural backgrounds.
Students from a range of college programs were asked to share their thoughts on the tutoring and coaching supports they've received from the Academic Success Centre since making the move to online appointments.
