The Writing Centre offers writing peer tutors for select courses. Writing peer tutors are current Red River College Polytechnic students who have excelled in writing-based courses and been recommended by their instructors to tutor students. All writing peer tutors have completed the courses in which they are tutoring and the writing peer tutor training course. The benefit to meeting with a peer tutor is the tutor is familiar with the types of writing assignments you may be asked to complete, familiar with the course content, and with the instructors.

Writing peer tutors are available during the day, evening and on weekends.
Students can book up to two (2) 45-minute appointments per week with a writing peer tutor.

How to Meet With Your Tutor Online:
On the day of your appointment, return to https://success.rrc.ca shortly before your meeting time.
Your Appointments for the day will be listed on your student dashboard.
When your meeting link becomes active, the appointment box will update to show the message - ‘Your online session is available’, and an ‘Arrow’ icon will appear.
Click he ‘Arrow’ to connect to the online meeting location set up for the meeting.
Alternatively, you can open the appointment editor, by clicking the ‘Notepad’ icon and access a meeting link from there.
If you attempt to join a scheduled meeting before the start time, you will be notified how long you need to wait for your link to become available.
If the tutor is not yet available, or is in another WebEx meeting, you will see a message letting you know to wait. There is also an option to send a notification to the tutor letting him or her know that you have arrived and are waiting. If the tutor does not start the Webex meeting after the scheduled time, send them an email and copy writing@rrc.ca and either the tutor or an ASC staff person will assist.
