Since 1991, the Canadian Women’s Foundation has become one of the largest women’s foundations in the world. With the support of donors, the Foundation has raised more than $100 million and funded over 1,950 programs across the country.

The global Gender, Equity and Human Rights team, comprised of staff across all six regions as well as in some WHO country offices, oversees the integration of gender, equity and human rights into healthcare programmes and policies across the different programme areas that make up the World Health Organization.

Klinic Community Health Centre is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We are a non-profit, charitable organization. We provide a full range of services including primary health care, counselling, and education.

MAWS is a collective association of the 10 provincial interpersonal and family violence shelters and 11 affiliate members.

Indigenous women and Two-Spirit people have traditionally been revered as life-givers and caregivers. This is why we say, “our women and girls are sacred.” But Indigenous women and girls, including those who are 2SLGBTQQIA, continue to be devalued. All too many become the victims of violence. Our vision for the National Inquiry is to build a foundation that allows Indigenous women and girls to reclaim their power and place.

Status of Women Canada works to advance equality for women by focusing its efforts in three priority areas: increasing women's economic security and prosperity; encouraging women's leadership and democratic participation; and ending gender-based violence. Status of Women Canada also plays a leadership role in the government-wide implementation of Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+).

It came about as a result of the ongoing need to assume our traditional responsibility to provide security to our Aboriginal community. Given that the Aboriginal population in Winnipeg is anywhere from 60,000 to 80,000, and is heavily concentrated in certain inner-city neighborhoods, it was felt that the community must organize to keep the peace and to assist community members. The patrol provides personal security in the inner city in a non-threatening, non-violent, and supportive way. The Patrol operates out of the Ndinawe Youth Drop-In located in the city’s north end.

Harvest collects and shares 11 million lbs of healthy and nutritious food to hungry Manitobans every year. We prepare Harvest Hampers in our Winnipeg Warehouse, which is then distributed to feeds 85,000 Manitobans – hungry children, hardworking families, and struggling adults – every month. Our volunteers donate almost 200,000 hours of hands-on service annually to make this happen.

Main Street Project is a Community Health Centre located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since 1972 we’ve served the needs of Winnipeg’s most vulnerable residents and have always worked towards helping our community find its collective footing.

Doug Mackie founded the first Canadian shed in 2011 in Winnipeg. Doug recognized that many men in his community had both time on their hands and a tendency to suffer from isolation, loneliness, and depression. This was especially true after they retired as many men tie big parts of their identities to their careers. Since starting MenSheds Manitoba, Doug has helped men come together, stay productive, and contribute to the community—all of which are keys to good overall health.

The North Point Douglas Women’s Centre began as a project in 2000, sponsored by the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg. The North Point Douglas Project for Women was developed as an empowerment project in recognition of women’s generally unequal position in society, their unique needs, and the important role they have in planning at the community level to enhance social, economic, and environmental conditions for themselves and their families.

We continue to be dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion and human dignity for people with an intellectual disability through sport. Recognized as the Sport Governing Body for individuals with an intellectual disability, today we provide 18 sports to over 1800 athletes in all seven regions of the Province.

Sunshine House is a community drop-in and resource centre focusing on harm reduction and social inclusion. We work to provide programming that fulfills people’s social, community, and recreational needs. Participants can come as they are, and are not expected to be “clean” or sober.

Willow Place is a family violence agency supporting personal transformation and healing, and healthy relationships. Incorporated in April 2015, Willow Place continues to maintain vital services and supports for women and children in Manitoba who are dealing with family violence and abuse.
