Interprofessional collaboration has consistently been associated with positive client-care outcomes. Role clarification is one facet of interprofessional collaboration that is thought to be crucial for effective interprofessional team functioning. Given the positive outcomes associated with interprofessional collaboration, educators have begun to integrate formal interprofessional education events into healthcare curricula.
Primary Care Interprofessional Team Toolkit (Manitoba) [PDF]
This toolkit builds from earlier work to help clinics in the Physician Integrated Networks to identify which providers to integrate. This version builds on this work and introduces additional resources which provide more details about each step of the process. Resources were chosen based on the questions and barriers identified by Manitoba physicians, other providers and My Health Teams.

College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM)
The College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) exists to serve and protect the public interest (The Occupational Therapists Act, 2002). COTM administers The Occupational Therapists Act and the Occupational Therapists Regulation (2005).
College of Paramedics of Manitoba
To protect the public interest by regulating the practice of paramedicine in Manitoba in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and the College of Paramedics of Manitoba General Regulation.
College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM)
Under the authority of The Pharmaceutical Act, the College licenses and regulates pharmacy and pharmacy professionals in the province to ensure they are qualified and meet standards of practice.
College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba
CPSM self regulates the medical profession in Manitoba and has done so since 1871. CPSM’s role is to protect the public as consumers of medical care and promote the safe and ethical delivery of quality medical care by physicians in Manitoba.
College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba (CPM).
Our mission is to ensure that the public receives safe, competent physiotherapy care from qualified physiotherapists.
College of Podiatrists of Manitoba (COPOM)
Podiatrists are medically trained healthcare professionals who specialise in diagnosing and treating disorders of the foot and lower limb.
Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists
The Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists regulates the practice and continuing competency of respiratory therapists to ensure the safe delivery of care.
Manitoba College of Social Workers
The vision of the Manitoba College of Social Workers is to serve the public interest through regulation of, and support to, the Social Work profession in Manitoba. The College provides leadership in promoting the excellence of its members in providing Social Work services to the public.
Manitoba Dental Association
The Manitoba Dental Association (MDA) is the regulatory body for Dentists and Registered Dental Assistants in the province of Manitoba. It provides the dual function of regulating these professions in the public interest and providing guidance to both the public and registrants resulting in the delivery of quality oral health care for all Manitobans.
Manitoba Naturopathic Association
the Manitoba Naturopathic Association has ensured that the public receives safe, competent naturopathic care from qualified naturopathic doctors. Anyone seeing an ND should expect to be dealing with a highly trained professional who has met comprehensive standards in order to practice. As regulated professionals, NDs are accountable for their conduct and practice.
Opticians of Manitoba (OOM)
The Opticians of Manitoba (OOM) regulates the profession of Opticianry in Manitoba. We set standards of practice to ensure that all Manitobans receive safe and competent care. By law, all persons who practise as Opticians and Contact Lens Opticians in Manitoba must be registered and licensed members of OOM.
Psychological Association of Manitoba (PAM)
The Psychological Association of Manitoba (PAM) is the provincial regulatory organization for the practice of all branches of Psychology in the province of Manitoba.
