Scanning

Where Can I Scan Documents?

Exchange District Campus Library

  • The multi-function printer PSCLIB_PRT4 in the second floor library has the ability to scan.
  • You will be able to scan to USB stick or send your scan to an email address.

Notre Dame Campus Library

  • NDC_LIB_EQ_Copier (the colour copier) allows scanning to USB and to Email.

Is There a Cost/Charge/Fee?

  • RRC Polytech has now implemented a $0.05/page scanning fee at all on site printers and copiers. 
  • There is a stand-alone table scanner on a workstation in the front area of the library where no charges are incurred.

Instructions: Scanning to Email

Scanning is only allowed to your RRC email.

Step 1

Login to the system

Username: <your HUB username>
Password: <your HUB password>

Or

Swipe your student card in the card reader.

Step 2

Click on the Email button.

Click on the 'Add Me +' button.

Note: If you don't click the Add Me button and manually put in your RRC email address, scanning will fail.
Note: The system will only allow you to email to your RRC address.  All other email addresses will fail.

Step 3

Press the Start button to scan.

You can either use the automatic feeder, or lift the lid and manually scan your document.

Step 4

Wait for the system to say the process has been completed.

Step 5

Click the Log in/out button.

Click Logout on the screen.

Instructions: Scanning to USB

There is a port on the front of the printer/scanner that you can plug a USB stick into.  If the USB stick isn't recognized, then the formatting isn't compatible with the scanner/copier.

Step 1

Login to the system

Username: <your HUB username>
Password: <your HUB password>

Or

Swipe your student card in the card reader.

Step 2

Insert USB stick into the printer.

Select the button that says scan to USB.

Step 3

Press the Start button to scan.

You can either use the automatic feeder, or lift the lid and manually scan your document.

Step 4

Wait for the system to say the process has been completed.

Step 5

After you are done, you can remove your USB stick.

Step 6

Click the Log in/out button.

Click the Logout button on the screen.
