2-Spirit people were often the visionaries, the healers and the medicine people, respected as fundamental components of our ancient culture and societies. This is our guiding force as well as our source of strength. This is the heart of 2-Spirited People of the First Nations.

2Spirit Manitoba is an organization that seeks to improve the quality of life of 2Spirit (Indigenous LGBTQQIA+ People).

2SiMS launched 2SpiritYouth.ca in November 2021 with the support of it’s funding partner ‘Indigenous Services Canada’ accompanied by the mandate to produce a digital space that shares the ‘Good News’ for and by 2 Spirit / Indigiqueer / LGBTQIAA+ Indigenous Youth across colonially defined ‘Canada’.

Created by Molly Karp, Closeted Stories is a collection of stories by and about LGBT Winnipeggers and their high school experiences. The goal of this project is to strengthen gay-straight alliance in Winnipeg and beyond, and to generate a deeper conversation about homophobic bullying in Winnipeg high schools. Drawing from the experiences of LGBT Winnipeggers of all ages, Closeted Stories will attempt to document and explore what still needs to be done to make our high schools a safer place for students of all sexual orientations.

The formation of the Manitoba Gay and Lesbian Archives is a symbolic culmination of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Two-spirit, and Queer individuals and organizations recording people’s history. Through this active approach to preservation and self-awareness, an outstanding body of knowledge exists today on the life, literature, art, philosophy and history of the Winnipeg LGBTTQ community dating back to the 1920s.

Nine Circles Community Health Centre, with expertise in the care and treatment of HIV, Hepatitis C and other sexually transmitted infections, delivers comprehensive primary care, social support, education and prevention services – creating healthier communities for Manitobans.

Pride Winnipeg's mission is creating an annual festival that is reflective of our values, advocates for equality, and celebrates Winnipeg’s gender, sexual, and relationship diverse communities.

Rainbow Resource Centre offers support to the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the form of counselling, education, and programming for individuals ranging from children through to 55±. It also supports families, friends, and employers of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals. Rainbow Resource Centre's Education Program provides 2SLGBTQ+ and ally education, awareness, and outreach that assists healthcare providers, educators, students, social service, and commercial service providers.

SERC is a community-based and non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting sexual health through education, workshops, and support. Their website has numerous resources on the topic of sexual health. They also offer translated resources for non-English speakers.

This archive highlights the history of Two-Spirit people in Manitoba and the rest of North America. The collection consists of newspaper articles, photographs, poetry, correspondences and more. This archive is believed to be one of the comprehensive collections in Canada. Their online collection that is free to browse.

The Two-Spirit Michif Local is the first of its kind in the Métis Nation. We’re a home for 2SLGBTQ+ Métis citizens looking for belonging, for family and friends, for support and a safe space.

Pflag Canada is a national charitable organization, founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their LGBTQ2S children. The “coming-out” process can be a critical time for families. Relationships can become permanently damaged when the adjustment period is particularly long or painful, resulting in a lifetime of emotional scars. People cannot always rise above the challenge of accepting themselves or their family members, and the results can be devastating, even fatal.

Affirm is a CBT-based group with a focus on the mental health of LGBT2S+ youth and adults. They offer different courses and webinars as well as research and education.

We are a team of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, Two-Spirit, and queer (LGBTQ2S+) and ally researchers who focus on understanding how LGBTQ2S+ people experience physical and emotional (mental) health, and how they access health services. Our office is at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, but our work examines LGBTQ2S+ lives and experiences all over the province, and beyond.

Salaam Canada is a national volunteer-run organization dedicated to creating and cultivating safe and supportive spaces for LGBTQ Muslims. We celebrate the diverse experiences of our community and support LGBTQ people who identify with Islam ritually, culturally, spiritually, or religiously. Trans Lifeline is a Canadian grassroots hotline and microgrants 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis – for the trans community, by the trans community.

Trans PULSE Canada is a national community-based survey of the health and well-being of trans and non-binary people in Canada. While this is a new study with data collection coming in the summer of 2019, the study traces its origins back to conversations between trans community members and allies at the Sherbourne Health Centre and The 519 in Toronto back in 2005.
