Workshop 1: The Brain & Learning

Workshop 1: The Brain & Learning

How does the brain learn? What can you do to maximize your brain's learning potential?

Description: When we learn, important changes take place in our brain. Our brain's neurons fire to create connections between ideas, we move new information into long-term memory, and we solve problems! There are simple things anyone can do to study smarter, not harder. Join this workshop to explore what the learning brain needs and how you can maximize your brain's potential.

Date: Tuesday, September 9th from 12:15-12:45pm (Click here to join The Brain & Learning workshop in Teams.)

Workshop 2: Critical Thinking & Learning

Workshop 2: Critical Thinking & Learning

What is critical thinking? Why do we talk about it so much?

Description: Learning in college involves taking in a lot of new information. Students are often asked to "think critically" about that new information in class and on assignments, but what does that mean? Join this workshop to explore the idea of critical thinking as a tool that can help students understand, apply, and evaluate what they learn in college. Learn about steps that students can practice to develop their critical thinking skills.

Date: Tuesday, September 16th from 12:15-12:45pm (Click here to join the Critical Thinking & Learning workshop in Teams.)

Workshop 3: Stress & Learning

Workshop 3: Stress & Learning

How does stress impact your ability to learn? What can you do about it?

Description: Everyone has stress - it's part of the human experience! But when does stress become unhelpful and what can we do about it? Join this workshop to learn about what's going on in the stressed-out brain; how stress can impact your ability to learn and recall knowledge; and how to manage unhelpful stress!

Date: Tuesday, September 23rd from 12:15-12:45pm (Click here to join the Stress & Learning workshop in Teams.)

Workshop 4: Procrastination & Learning

Workshop 4: Procrastination & Learning

Why do we all procrastinate so much? How can we control it?

Description: Join this workshop to examine what procrastination is really about. (It may not be about what you think!) Through a mix of research, case studies and concrete tips, this session will help you navigate feelings and thoughts connected to tasks and motivate you to take action!

Date: Tuesday, October 7th from 12:15-12:45pm (Click here to join the Procrastination & Learning workshop in Teams.)
