The Academic Success Centre is offering a four-part online workshop series this September called Understanding How You Learn!
We've identified four topics which impact learning in a significant way. By exploring these topics - the brain, critical thinking, stress and procrastination - you'll understand their influence on learning and leverage this understanding to your time here at college, and beyond.
Sessions will be held online from 12:15-12:45pm beginning September 12, 2023.
Students are welcome to attend any or all of the four sessions. No registration is required! Simply log on to the Webex meeting using this link at the appropriate time.
Read below for workshop topics and descriptions.
Workshop recordings will become available below as the workshop dates have passed.

Description: When we learn, important changes take place in our brain. Neurons are firing to create connections between ideas, information is moved into long-term memory, and problems are being solved. There are simple things anyone can do to study smarter, not harder. Join this workshop to explore what the learning brain needs and how you can maximize your brain's potential.
Workshop Recording:

Date: Thursday, September 14, 2023 12:15-12:45pm (click here to log on)
Description: Learning in college involves taking in a lot of new information. Often students are asked to "think critically" about that new information in class and on assignments, but what does that mean? Join this workshop to explore the idea of critical thinking as a tool that can help students understand, apply, and evaluate what they learn in college. Learn about steps that students can practice to develop their critical thinking skills.
