RefWorks (Software Instruction)

RefWorks online software simplifies the process of research, collaboration, data organization, and writing by providing an easy-to-use tool for citation, bibliography, and reference management. Learn how to build a collection of references.

Create a bibliography list

Create a Bibliography allows you to generate a list of the selected references. This list can then be copied and pasted into a document. 

1. Select references to include in the bibliography

  • Select an entire folder


  • Select specific reference by checking the boxes beside them 




2. Click the "Create Bibliography" button on the top (horizontal) toolbar; 
     From the drop-down select "Create Bibliography".




3. The list will be generated. There are some actions that can be taken across the top (horizontal) toolbar

  • Return (folder name)
  • Change citation style (the current one is displayed)
  • Toggle between all items in the folder and only selected items in the folder (if any were selected, the number of items in the group are displayed in brackets.)














4. Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button to copy the list. it can then be pasted into Word, Email, etc.
